Direction — number of cabin attendants (Sunstate Airlines)

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 1 June 2017; and

(b)   is repealed at the end of 31 May 2019.

2          Application

                 This instrument applies to Sunstate Airlines (Qld) Pty Limited, ARN 065667 (Sunstate Airlines), if it operates DHC8-400 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 78 passengers (the aircraft) in charter or regular public transport operations.

3          Directions

        (1)     Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to Sunstate Airlines.

        (2)     Sunstate Airlines must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the aircraft.

        (3)     These directions are subject to the condition in section 4.

4          Condition

                 Sunstate Airlines must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of its operations manual relating to emergency procedures, including exits or the procedures relating to able-bodied passengers.
