CASA 20/21 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Alliance Airlines Pty Limited) Direction 2021

1Name

            This instrument is CASA 20/21 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Alliance Airlines Pty Limited) Direction 2021.

2          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 25 March 2021; and

(b)   is repealed at the earlier of the following:

             (i)  the commencement of the Civil Aviation Safety Amendment (Part 121) Regulations 2018;

            (ii)  the end of 31 May 2022.

Note   For regulation 11.250 of CASR, the directions issued in this instrument cease to be in force at the earlier of the times mentioned in paragraph (b).

3Repeal of instrument CASA 86/19

Instrument CASA 86/19 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Alliance Airlines Pty Limited) Direction 2019 is repealed.

4          Definitions

                 In this instrument:

Alliance Airlines means Alliance Airlines Pty Limited, ARN 593564.

cabin attendant: see subsection 2 of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3.

relevant aircraft means:

(a)   the Fokker F27 MK 050 series aircraft with a relevant type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 50 passengers; or

(b)   the Fokker F28 MK 0070 series aircraft with a relevant type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 85 passengers; or

(c)   the Fokker F28 MK 0100 series aircraft with a relevant type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 109 passengers.

relevant type certificate data sheet means the type certificate data sheet, for the relevant aircraft, as it exists at the commencement of this instrument.

5          Application

                 This instrument applies to Alliance Airlines in relation to its operation of the relevant aircraft in charter, or regular public transport, operations.

6          Directions

        (1)     Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3does not apply to Alliance Airlines.

        (2)     Alliance Airlines must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.

        (3)     Alliance Airlines must give written notice to CASA of any proposed revision of any part of Alliance Airlines’ operations manual that relates to emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits.

        (4)     A notice mentioned in subsection (3) must be given at least 14 days before making the proposed revision.
