Direction — number of cabin attendants (Jetstar Airways)

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)commences on the day of registration; and

(b)is repealed at the end of 31 May 2017.

2          Repeal

                 Instrument CASA 52/16 is repealed.

3          Application

                 This instrument applies to Jetstar Airways Pty Limited, ARN 510654 (the aircraft operator), if it operates the aircraft listed in Schedule 1 (the aircraft) for a purpose prescribed in paragraph 206 (1) (b) or (c) of CAR 1988.

4          Directions

        (1)     Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3 does not apply to the aircraft operator.

        (2)     The aircraft operator must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the aircraft.

        (3)     These directions are subject to the condition in section 4.

5          Condition

                 The operator must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of the operator’s operations manual relating to emergency procedures, including exits, or the procedures relating to able-bodied passengers.

Schedule 1          Aircraft

        1     Airbus A321-200 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 230 passengers.

        2     Airbus A320-200 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 180 passengers.
