CIVIL AVIATION REGULATIONS

EXEMPTION — CLASS A AIRCRAFT USED IN PRIVATE OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE CONTROLLERS

I, LEROY ALLEN KEITH, Director of Aviation Safety:

(a)     revoke exemption number CASA 23/1996; and

(b)     on behalf of CASA, under regulation 308 of the Civil Aviation Regulations (the Regulations), having taken into account all relevant considerations relating to the interests of safety, exempt:

(i)     each class A aircraft engaged in private operations; and

(ii)    the operator of any such aircraft while they are associated with the operation of those aircraft;

from compliance with the provisions of regulations 42ZV and 42ZY of the Regulations on condition that:

(iii)   all maintenance on the aircraft is carried out by a maintenance organisation which holds a certificate of approval to carry out maintenance on aircraft of that type; and

(iv)    the aircraft’s system of maintenance specifies the name of the individual who is responsible for scheduling the aircraft’s maintenance.
