CASA 06/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (National Jet Express) Direction 2018

1          Name

                 This instrument is CASA 06/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (National Jet Express) Direction 2018.

2          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 1 February 2018; and

(b)   is repealed at the end of 31 January 2020.

3          Application

                 This instrument applies to National Jet Express Pty Ltd, ARN 580965 (National Jet Express), if National Jet Express operates any of the following aircraft (the relevant aircraft)in charter, or regular public transport, operations:

(a)   BAe 146 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 100 passengers;

(b)   ERJ 190‑100 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 114 passengers.

4          Directions

        (1)     Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to National Jet Express in respect of its operation of the relevant aircraft.

        (2)     National Jet Express must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.

        (3)     National Jet Express must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of its operations manual affecting emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits or procedures relating to able‑bodied passengers.
