REGULATIONS UNDER THE CANNED FRUITS EXPORT
CONTROL ACT 1926-1950.*

Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make
the following Regulations under the

AMENDMENTS OF THE CANNED FRUITS EXPORT CONTROL (STAFF) REGULATIONS.
“5.—(1.) An officer who occupies an office specified in column 1 of Table A shall be entitled to the annual salary, or salary within the limits of salary, specified in column 2 of that Table opposite to that office and to the increments of salary within those limits specified in column 3 of that Table.
“(2.) The Secretary and Chief Executive Officer shall be entitled to be paid—
(
a ) in respect of his service between the twenty-ninth day of June, 1951, and the twenty-third day of July, 1952— annual salary within the limits of £1,614-£1,800 and increments of £62 within those limits;(
b ) in respect of his service between the twenty-second day of July, 1952, and the eleventh day of February, 1953— annual salary within the limits of £1,738-£1,924 and increments of £62 within those limits; and(
c ) in respect of his service on and after the eleventh day of February, 1953—annual salary within the limits of £1,862-£2,048 and increments of £62 within those limits.

“(3.) The London Representative and Secretary shall, on and after the first day of November, 1951, be entitled to be paid annual salary within the limits of £1,250-£1,400 and increments of £50 within those limits.
“(4.) An officer shall not be entitled to an increment of salary under this regulation until he has received salary without the increment for not less than twelve months.
“(5.) The salary of an officer under sub-regulations (1.) and (2.) of this regulation shall be subject to variation from time to time in accordance with the provisions of regulation 106A of the Public Service Regulations as inserted by Statutory Rules 1951, No. 77.
“(6.) The salary of the London Representative and Secretary under sub-regulation (3.) of this regulation shall be subject to the same variations of salary on account of variations in cost of living as those prescribed in respect of officers employed under the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations for the time being in force.
“(7.) Where an officer is appointed to the London Office of the Board, that portion of his salary which is paid in England shall be paid in English currency.”.
(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the thirtieth day of June, 1951.

“8.—(1.) Subject to these Regulations, officers shall
be employed under the same conditions with respect to leave of absence and
holidays as those prescribed in relation to officers of the Commonwealth Public
Service by the
“(2.) Where the Board certifies that the
functions and duties of an officer, or officers included in a class of
officers, employed by the Board are substantially similar to those of an
officer, or officers included in a class of officers, in relation to whom a
determination under the
“(3.) Where a condition of employment prescribed by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation is inconsistent with a condition of employment prescribed by sub-regulation (2.) of this regulation, the latter shall prevail and the former shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, not apply to, or in relation to, officers.
“(4.) For the purposes of this
regulation, a reference in the
(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-ninth day of December, 1949.
“10. The London Representative and Secretary may, at the discretion of the Board, be paid a representation allowance at a rate not exceeding Two hundred pounds per annum.”.
(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of November, 1951.
“11A.—(1.) Persons engaged in the United Kingdom shall be paid at the rates and employed under the conditions prescribed by the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations.
“(2.) For the purposes of this regulation, any powers, duties and functions which, under the High Commissioner (Staff) Regulations, are exercisable by the High Commissioner or the Official Secretary shall be exercisable by the Chairman.”.
(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the thirtieth day of June, 1951.

(2.) The amendment of the Canned Fruits Export
Control (Staff) Regulations effected by paragraph (
7.—(1.) Notwithstanding the provisions of the Canned Fruits Export Control (Staff) Regulations as in force during the period which commenced on the twenty-ninth day of December, 1949, and ended on the twenty-ninth day of June, 1951, an officer of the Board who occupied an office specified in column 1 of the table in this sub-regulation during that period shall, in respect of his service during that period, be deemed to have been entitled to the annual salary, or salary within the limits
of salary, specified in column 2 of that table opposite to that office and to the increments of salary within those limits specified in column 3 of that table.

(2.) The salary to which an officer is deemed to have been entitled under the last preceding sub-regulation during the period specified in that sub-regulation shall be deemed to have been subject to variation from time to time in accordance with the provisions of regulation 106A of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations as in force during that period.
