Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, GARY FRANCIS PUNCH, the Minister of State for the Arts and Territories, hereby make the following Regulations under the Electricity and Water Ordinance 1988.

Amendments
1. The Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.
Transitional
2. (1) A person who, immediately before the commencement date, was—
(a)the Engineer appointed or employed by the Minister as Sewerage Engineer or Engineer for Water Supply;
(b)the Inspector appointed or employed by the Minister;
(c)the Supervising Officer appointed or employed by the Minister as a Supervising Officer; or
(d)the Proper Authority appointed by the Minister to be the Proper Authority;
under the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations shall be deemed to have been so appointed or employed, as the case requires, on the commencement date, by the Authority to be the Engineer, the Inspector, the Supervising Officer or the Proper Authority, as the case requires, under those Regulations.
(2) In this regulation, “commencement date” has the same meaning as in Part X of the Electricity and Water Ordinance 1988.
SCHEDULE Regulation 1
AMENDMENTS OF CANBERRA SEWERAGE AND WATER SUPPLY REGULATIONS
Subregulation 4 (1) (definitions of “Supervising Officer”, “the Engineer”, “the Inspector”, “the Proper Authority” and “the sewerage system”):
Omit “Minister” substitute “Authority”.
Subregulation 4 (1) (definition of “determined charge”):
Omit “Minister under section 3F of the Building and Services Ordinance 1924”, substitute “Authority under section 48 of the Electricity and Water Ordinance”.
Subregulation 4 (1) (definition of “Commonwealth pipes”):
Omit the definition.
Subregulation 4 (1):
Insert the following definitions in their respective appropriate alphabetical positions:
“ ‘Authority’ means the Australian Capital Territory Electricity and Water Authority”;
‘Authority pipes’ means any pipe forming part of any water-supply system provided by or under the authority, or under the control, of the Authority;
‘Electricity and Water Ordinance’ means the Electricity and Water Ordinance 1988;”.
