Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply

Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, WILLIAM MICHAEL HODGMAN, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulations under the Building and Services Ordinance 1924.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 4 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations is amended by inserting after the definition of "Internal closet" in sub-regulation (1) the following definition:

" 'Licence' means a licence in force under the Plumbers, Drainers and

Gasfitters Board Ordinance 1982;".

Heading

(a)	by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "issued in pursuance of these Regulations"; and
(b)	by omitting from paragraph (2) (b) "issued in pursuance of these
Regulations".

2. The heading to Part II of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply

Regulations is amended by omitting "LICENSING OF" .

Repeal

3. Regulations 6 to 10 (inclusive) of the Canberra Sewerage and Water

Supply Regulations are repealed.

Sanitary plumbers to be licensed

4. Regulation 11 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations

is amended—

House drainage work

5. Regulation 12 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations

is amended—

(a)	by omitting from paragraph (a) "under these Regulations" (wherever occurring);
(b)	by omitting from paragraph (a) "a sanitary" and substituting "an advanced sanitary"; and
(c)	by omitting from paragraph (b) "a sanitary drainer's licence under these Regulations" and substituting "an advanced sanitary drainer's licence".

Water supply plumbers to be licensed

6. Regulation 13 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations

is amended by omitting "issued by the Proper Authority".

Interference with drains, &c , connected with sewerage system

7. Regulation 15 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations

is amended

(a)	by omitting from paragraph (1) (b) "a sanitary" and substituting "an advanced sanitary";
(b)	by omitting from paragraph (1) (d) "a sanitary" and substituting "an advanced sanitary"; and
(c)	by omitting from paragraph (9) (b) "a sanitary" and substituting "an advanced sanitary".

Unblocking of drain by owner of land

8. Regulation 15A of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply

Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) "under these

Regulations".

Holder of permit to notify change of address

9. Regulation 115 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply

Regulations is amended

(a)	by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "a licence,";
(b)	by omitting from paragraph (1) (b) "licence or";
(c)	by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) "licence or" (wherever occurring); and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (2) (b) "licence or".

Notice to be given of suspension, cancellation or refusal to issue or renew permit

10. Regulation 116 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (1) (a) and substituting the following paragraph:

"(a) suspends or cancels a minor plumbing permit or a minor

drainage permit that has been granted to a person; or";

(b) by omitting paragraph (1) (b);

(c)	by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "in paragraph (a), (b) or ( c ) " and substituting "in paragraph (a) or (c)"; and
(d)	by omitting from sub-regulation (2) "licence or".

Review by the Tribunal

11. Regulation 117 of the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (a) and substituting the following paragraph:

"(a) a suspension or cancellation by the Proper Authority of a minor plumbing permit or a minor drainage permit that has been granted to a person;"; and

(b) by omitting paragraph (b).

Schedule

12. The Schedule to the Canberra Sewerage and Water Supply Regulations

is amended by omitting Forms 1 to 11 (inclusive).
