1. These Regulations may be cited as the Canberra Community citation.
Hospital (Charges) Regulations.
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of commencement.
July, 1952.
3.—(1.) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention interpretation,
appears—
" in-patient " means a person who occupies a bed in the Hospital
for the purposes of t reatment;
" out -pa t ien t" means a person who receives treatment at the
Hospital other than as an in-patient;
" the Ord inance" means the Canberra Community Hospital

(2.) For the purposes of these Regulations—
(a) the day of admission to the Hospital and the day of
discharge or death shall be counted as one day ; and
(b) a child under the age of twelve months and the mother of that child if they are in-patients at the same time, shall be deemed to be one in-patient.

For the purposes of these Regulations, the Minister or a person classification may classify the wards of the Hospital as general wards, intermediate wards or private wards, and may, from time to time, vary the classi- fication of those wards.

Charges for
| in-patients. | 5. The charge for treatment provided by the Board for an in-patient is at the rate of— |
(a) Eighteen shillings per day in respect of an in-patient in a
general ward ;
(fc) One pound four shillings per day in respect of an in-patient
in an intermediate ward ; and
(c) One pound ten shillings per day in respect of an in-patient
in a private ward.

| (2.) Where, at a radiological examination forming part of a service specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations, it is necessary to take three films, the charge for that service is, unless otherwise provided in that Schedule, an amount which is one and one-half times the amount specified in that Schedule opposite to that service or, if a charge is specified in relation to that service for one or two films, an amount which is one and one-half times the amount specified in that Schedule opposite to that service for two films. | |
| (3.) Where, at a radiological examination forming part of a service specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations it is necessary to take four or more films, the charge for that service is, unless otherwise provided in that Schedule, the sum of— |
(a) the amount ascertained in accordance with the last preceding
sub-regulation for the first three films; and
(i) for each film after the first three films—an amount which is one-quarter of the amount specified in that Schedule opposite to that service or, if a charge is specified in rela- tion to that service for one or two films, an amount which is one quarter of the amount specified in that Schedule opposite to that service for two films.
