[ASSENTED '1.'0 ~ ' OTH NOVEMBEH, 1911.J B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. rrhis Act shall be read as one with "The Cairns Short title and Harbour Board Act oj 1905,"* herein referred to as the construction Ptincipal Act, rrhis Act may be cited together "With the of Act. (2.) In subsection four of the said section, the word "nine" is repealed, and the word "twelve" is inserted in lieu thereof, " 5 Edw. VII. No. 27, 8upra, pag" 3946.

In subsection five of the said section, the words "Two members of the Board shall respectively be assigned to the Town of Cairns and the Shire of W alsh, and one member of the Board shall respectively be assigned to the Shires of Barron, Cairns, Herberton, Tinaroo, and Woothakata," are repealed, and the words "Three members of the Board shall be assigned to the Town of Cairns, and one member of the Board shall respectively be assigned to the Shires of Barron, Cairns, Chillagoe, Eacham, Einasleigh, Herberton, Tinaroo, Walsh, and Woothakata," are inserted in lieu thereof. Fresh elections to be held. 4. At the annual elections, in the year one thousand nine hundred and twelve, of members of the Local Authorities whose Areas are comprised within the Harbour Board District, a. fresh election of the members of the Board shall be held, and the whole number of the members of the Board shall be elected at such election in accordance with the Principal Act as amended by this Act; and at the conclusion of such election all the late members of the Board shall go out of office, except such of them as are re-elected. Notwithstanding this Act, the existing members of the Board shall until such fresh election remain in office and constitute the Board for all the purposes of the Principal Act. Elections of members shall be held in every third year thereafter in accordance with the Principal Act as amended by this Act. A1'Ilendment 5.
