GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS ACT 1904 BY-LAW 54 AMENDMENT (No. 2) 1991

Made by the Western Australian Government Railways Commission and
approved by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation

1.These by-laws may be cited as By-law 54 Amendment (No. 2) 1991.

Principal by-law

2.In these by-laws By-law 54 of the Railway By-laws* is referred to as the

principal by-law.

Rule 82 amended

3.Rule 82 in the Schedule to the principal by-law is amended by repealing

sub-bylaws (3) and (4) and substituting the following sub-bylaws—

(3) Points indicators fixed on catch or safety points (see figure 62) exhibit

a reflectorised red target by day and by night when the points are in their normal (derailing) position, and a reflectorised green target by day and by night when the points are reversed (running position).

(4) Points indicators fixed on other than catch points (see Figure 63) exhibit a reflectorised half red and half green target by day and by night—the green being exhibited in the direction for which the points are set. "

Rule 178 amended
4. Rule 178 in the Schedule to the principal by-law is amended in paragraph
(b) by repealing item (I) of subparagraph (i) and substituting the following

item—

(I) effect the staff change or ensure that the Driver's Assistant does so in

accordance with these rules; ".

Rule 224 amended
5. Rule 224 in the Schedule to the principal by-law is amended in paragraph
(ba) by repealing subparagraph (i) and substituting the following subpara-

graph—

(i) the Driver must effect the staff change or ensure that the Driver's
Assistant does so in accordance with these rules; ".

Rule 270 repealed

6.Rule 270 in the Schedule to the principal by-law is repealed.

Rule 356A repealed

7.Rule 356A in the Schedule to the principal by-law is repealed.

Rule 531 amended

8.Rule 531 in the Schedule to the principal by-law is amended in subrule (1)

by deleting "1 000" and substituting the following—

Figures 62 and 63 substituted
9. Figures 62 and 63 in the Figures in the Schedule to the principal by-laws

are deleted and the following figures are substituted—
