to the closing of bu tchers ' shops on Sundays.

Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and b y the

au tho r i t y of t h e same, as follows :—

1. This A c t m a y be cited as the " B u t c h e r s ' Shops Sunday
Closing Ac t , 1902 . "
2. The Ac t for ty-seventh Vic tor ia n u m b e r e ight is hereby

repealed.

3. (1) N o person wi th in t he met ropo l i t an police d is t r ic t
A c t

exercising, or employed in t h e t r ade or ca l l ing of, or ac t ing w i t h t he pr iv i ty or consent of a bu tche r , shal l keep open, or allow to be k e p t open, his shop or premises for t h e sale of meat , or sell or expose for sale a n y meat , a t such shop or premises be tween the hours of twelve on

Sa turday n i g h t and twelve on S u n d a y n igh t .
(2) A n y person offending aga ins t th i s A c t shall, on convict ion

of any such offence before t h e nea res t cour t of pe t t y sessions w i th in seven days from t h e commission thereof, be liable to a pena l ty n o t

exceeding three pounds nor less t h a n t w e n t y shil l ings.
