An Act to prohibit within the Metropolitan Police District the opening' of Butchers ' Shops on Sundays. [31st March, 1884.]
of meat on Sundays Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most WH E R E A S it is expedient that Butchers' Shops within the Metropolitan Police District should not he opened for the sale
Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Council and Legislative; Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—
1. No person within the Metropolitan Police District exercising or employed in the trade or calling of or acting with the privity or consent of a butcher shall keep open or allow to be kept open his shop or premises for the sale of meat or shall sell or expose for sale any meat at such shop or premises between the hours of twelve on Saturday night and twelve on Sunday night And any person offending against the provisions of this section shall on conviction of any such offence before the nearest Court of Petty Sessions within seven days from the commission thereof forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding three pounds nor less than twenty shillings.
