BUSINESS NAMES ACT 1962—REGULATION

(Relating to offences dealt with by penalty notices)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Business Names Act 1962, has been pleased to

make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 12th March, 1993.

Amendments

2. The Business Names Regulation 1989 is amended:

(a)

by omitting from Schedule 2 the matter “$1,200” and by inserting instead the matter “$200”;

(b)

by omitting from Schedule 2 the matter “$250” and by inserting instead the matter “$100”;

(c)

by omitting from Schedule 2 the matter “$500” where firstly, secondly and thirdly occurring and by inserting instead the matter “$100”;

(d)

by omitting from Schedule 2 the matter “$500” where fourthly occurring and by inserting instead the matter “$200”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Regulation is to amend the Business Names Regulation 1989

to reduce the amount of the penalty that is prescribed for each of the various offences that may be dealt with by penalty notice under section 28A of the Business Names Act 1962.
