BUSINESS NAMES ACT 1962—REGULATION
(Relating to fees)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Business Names Act 1962, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 1 March 1994.
Amendments
2. The Business Names Regulation 1989 is amended:
(a) byinsertinginclause3(1)inalphabeticalorderthefollowing definition: “approved information broker” means a person who has the written approval of the Commissioner to scan the computerised register of business names to obtain information for sale;
(b)

EXPLANATORY NOTE
object of this Regulation is:
to prescribe a fee for the scanning of the computerised register of business
to increase fees payable in connection with the registration and renewal ofnames by approved information brokers; and business names, the inspection of records and the provision by the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs of replies to inquiries and copies and
extracts of documents or the register of business names.
Regulation is made under the Business Names Act 1962 including sections
7 (Registration of business names), 11 (Duration of registration and renewal of registration), 1 2 A (Managing Director may allow further time), 2 2 (Inspection of statements), 2 3 (Certificates of registration or non-registration) and 3 2 (the general regulation making power).
