BUSINESS FRANCHISE LICENCES (TOBACCO)

AMENDMENT ACT 1996 NO 119—PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Business Franchise Licences (Tobacco) Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation:

(a)

appoint 1 February 1997 as the day on which that Act, except Schedule 1 [7], commences, and

(b)

appoint 1 April 1997 as the day on which Schedule 1 [7] to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation commences the Business Franchise Licences (Tobacco) Amendment Act 1996 on 1 February 1997, except for a provision of that Act that contains offences relating to sales of tobacco to, and purchases of tobacco from, unlicensed persons. That provision is to commence on 1 April 1997.
