PROCLAMATION

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State
of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in

pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Bush Fires (Amendment) Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 17th December 1993 as the day on which section 4 of that Act, and Schedule 1 (1), (3) (a), (4), (5) (d), (6) (a), (7)–(10) and (12) to that Act, and section 3 of that Act in its application to those provisions, commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Bush Fires (Amendment) Act 1993 relating to the reconstitution of the Bush Fire Council, the Finance Committee and the Co-ordinating Committee, and which change the title of the position of Director-General of the Department of Bush Fire Services to the Commissioner of Bush Fire Services. The rest of the Act, dealing mainly with financial matters such as contributions to the New South Wales Fire Fighting Fund and returns by insurance companies, commenced on the date of assent.
