Bush Fires Amendment (Rail Access

Corporation) Regulation 1996

under the

Bush Fires Act 1949

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Bush Fires Act 1949.

Explanatory note

The objects of this Regulation are:

(a)	to prescribe Rail Access Corporation as an organisation or body that may nominate, or provide, personnel for membership of a Bush Fire Management Committee (formerly known as a District Fire Committee) or a Fire Prevention Association, and
(b)	to prescribe certain functions of Rail Access Corporation to enable their exercise by bush fire brigades in voluntary co-operation with Rail Access Corporation.

This Regulation is made under the Bush Fires Act 1949, including sections 22B (Voluntary work by bush fire brigade), 41AA (Bush Fire Management Committees), 41B (Other functions of Co-ordinating Committee) and 57 (the general regulation–making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Bush Fires Amendment (Rail Access

Corporation) Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 19 July 1996.

3 Amendment of Bush Fires Regulation 1992

The Bush Fires Regulation 1992 is amended as set out in

Schedule 1 .

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

   Insert at the end of the list of organisations in clause 15 (b):

   Insert at the end of the list of bodies in clause 19 (b):

1. Clause 30 Voluntary work by bush fire brigades

Omit “or the State Rail Authority" from clause 30 (b).
Insert instead “, the State Rail Authority or Rail Access
Corporation".
