BURRENDONG D A M ( A M E N D M E N T ) ACT.

Act No. 14, 1960.

An Act to amend the Burrendong Dam Act, 1946, in certain respects; to validate certain matters; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented

to, 31st March, 1960.]

BE	it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as
follows : —

(1) This Act may be cited as the "Burrendong Dam (Amendment) Act, 1960".

(2) The Burrendong Dam Act, 1946, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Burrendong Dam Act, 1946-

1960.

2. This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty- six.

(b)

3. The Burrendong Dam Act, 1946, is amended —

(a) (i) by omitting from section three the symbols and words ' "Macquarie River Proposed Burrendong Dam," ' and by inserting in lieu thereof the symbols and words ' "Macquarie

River—Burrendong Dam", ' ;

(ii)   by inserting at the end of the same section the words, symbols and figures "and catalogued

No. 62 /581" ;

(b)	by omitting from section four the words "two million pounds" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "sixteen million pounds";
(c)	by omitting the Schedule and by inserting in lieu thereof the following Schedule: —

SCHEDULE.

(1 ) (a ) An earth dam across the Macquarie River about 20 miles upstream from the town of Wellington, within portion 3, parish of Yarragal, county of Bligh, and portions 3 and 27, parish of Galwadgere, county of Wellington, of a height sufficient to store about 964,000 acre feet of water for irrigation purposes and 397,000 acre feet of water for flood storage purposes, with concrete spillway, emergency spillways, gates and outlets for regulation of the discharge of water from the storage.

(b ) Road deviations and roads of access together with struc­ tures incidental thereto.

(c ) Works necessary to prevent siltation within the reservoir and for the protection of the foreshores of the storage.

(2 ) The whole of the works hereinbefore described to be subject to such modifications as may be deemed desirable by the Constructing Authority.
