AN ACT to enable the Municipality of 'Bunbury to undertake the business of carrying Passengers for Hire, and for that purpose to provide, maintain, and use Motor-buses, and for other relative purposes.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and

with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and

Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Par-

liament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :--

This Act may be cited as the Bunbury Motor-bus Service

Borrowing powers.

5. (1.) The power to borrow money for the construction and

purchase of (amongst other things) motor-cars conferred on the Council by Part XXIV. of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1906, shall be deemed to enable money to be borrowed (for the purposes of this Act) on behalf of the Municipality for the purchase or con- struction of anything which it is authorised to purchase or construct under this Act.

(2.) Any loan heretofore raised by the Council for the purchase of motor-cars or motor-buses, or hereafter raised by the Council for such purpose pursuant to any proposition heretofore adopted, may be applied for the purposes of this Act to the purchase or construction of anything which the-Municipality is authorised to purchase or construct under this Act.

6. (1.) The Council may, with the approval of the Governor, (a.) Preventing the commission of any nuisance in or upon any motor-bus or premises used for the purposes of this Act ;

(b.) Regulating the travelling in or upon any such motor-

(c.) The suppression of disorderly or improper conduct in

or about any such motor-bus or premises ;

(d.) Prescribing the conditions under which passengers, luggage, and parcels shall and may be carried, and the tolls, fares or charges which may be demanded or taken by the Municipality therefor ;

(e.) Regulating the conduct of all persons employed in or about the business authorised by this Act, and the management and carrying on of such business.

(2.) Any by-law may impose a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds for a breach thereof.

7. In this Act, subject to the context-

" Council " means the Council of the Municipality ;

" District " means the Municipal District of Bunbury ;

" Motor-bus " means a vehicle propelled by electrical or

other mechanical power suitable for the conveyance of

passengers;

" Municipality " means the Municipality of Bunbury.
