The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Buildings (Design and Siting) Act 1964.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on 1 January 1994.

Principal Regulations

2.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Buildings (Design and Siting) Regulations.

External design—prescribed works

3.  Regulation 2A of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “1 January 1994” and substituting “1 May 1994”.

Prescribed period—subsection 237 (1) of the applied Part

4.  Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraph (a) “or”; and

(b)by inserting after paragraph (a) the following paragraph:

“(ab)in relation to a lessee of an adjoining property to whom notice of the making of the application is given in accordance with a notification by the Authority under regulation 8A—the period of 21 days commencing on the day on which that notice is given; or”.

Exemption of activities from application of the applied Part

5.  Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from subparagraph (1) (b) (ii) “1.8” and substituting “1.5”; and

(b)by omitting from subparagraph (1) (b) (iii) “4” and substituting “3”.
