Building Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, WILLIAM MICHAEL HODGMAN, the Minister of State for the Capital Territory, hereby make the following Regulation under the Building Ordinance 1972.

Fee for building permit

Regulation 9 of the Building Regulations is amended

(a)

by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "sub-regulations (2)" and substituting "sub-regulations (3A)";

(b) by omitting sub-regulation (2);

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) "sub-regulation (4)" and substituting "sub-regulations (3A) and (4)";
(d) by inserting after sub-regulation (3) the following sub-regulation:

"(3A) Subject to sub-regulation (4), the fee payable for a building permit granted under section 39 of the Ordinance is an amount equal to the sum of the fee that, but for this sub-regulation and sub-regulat ion (4 ) , would be payable in accordance with sub-regulation (1) or (3), as the case may be, and an amount equal to 0.5 per cent of the cost of the building work in respect of which the building permit is granted."; and

(b) in the case of a permit granted under section 39 of the Ordinance in respect of residential building work—$35;
(c) in the case of a permit granted under section 35 of the Ordinance in respect of commercial building work—$30; and
(d) in the case of a permit granted under section 39 of the
Ordinance in respect of commercial building work—$35.".

(e)

by omitting paragraphs (4) (a) and (b) and substituting the following paragraphs:

"(a) in the case of a permit granted under section 35 of the

Ordinance in respect of residential building work — $20;
