Building and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Building and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 . Part 2 Amendment of Building Regulation 2006 2 Regulation amended This part amends the Building Regulation 2006. 3 Replacement of s 51BE (Approval of amendment of QDC by replacing part MP4.1) Section 51BE— omit , insert — ‘51BE Approval of amendment of QDC by replacing part MP4.1 ‘(1) The amendment of the QDC by replacing part MP4.1 published by the chief executive on 27 June 2011 is approved under section 13(3) of the Act. ‘(2) The approval takes effect on 8 July 2011.’. 4 Insertion of new s 51BM After section 51BL— insert — Page 2 2011 SL No. 134

Part 3 Amendment of Standard Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2003 5 Regulation amended This part amends the StandardPlumbingandDrainageRegulation 2003. 6 Insertion of new s 50A After section 50— insert — ‘50A Integrated basins and water closet (WC) cisterns ‘(1) An integrated system must not be installed if the integrated system, or the way the integrated system is installed, does not comply with this section. ‘(2) An integrated system may only be installed in a building classified under BCA as a class 1a, 2 or 4 building. ‘(3) Water supplied to the integrated system must be— (a) potable water or rainwater; and (b) supplied to the basin directly from the system tap when the toilet is flushed. ‘(4) The basin must be attached to the top of the water closet (WC) cistern. ‘(5) Water from the basin must be discharged directly into the water closet (WC) cistern. 2011 SL No. 134 Page 3

Building and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 3 Amendment of Standard Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2003 [s 7] ‘(6) Water from the water closet (WC) cistern must be discharged into a sanitary drain through the toilet pan. ‘(7) In this section— integrated system means a toilet that has, as an integral part, a basin that discharges greywater from the basin directly into the water closet (WC) cistern. system tap means a tap connected to a supply pipe that supplies water to the integrated system.’. 7 Amendment of sch 2 (Minor work) Schedule 2, part 1, after the sixth dot point— insert — ‘• disconnecting, extending and reconnecting existing plumbing and drainage for a building, classified under BCA as a class 1 building, that is being raised if— (a) a building certifier has, by written notice given to the owner of the building, certified that the building has been affected by a flood or storm surge; or (b) the building is located in an area designated as a natural hazard management area (flood) by a local government under the Building Regulation 2006 , section 13; or (c) a local government has, by written notice given to the owner of the building or notice published on the local government’s website, declared that the building is likely to be affected by a flood or storm surge.’.
