Editorial changes
The Legislation Act 2001, part 11.3 authorises the Parliamentary Counsel to make editorial amendments and other changes of a formal nature when preparing a law for republication. Editorial changes do not change the effect of the law, but have effect as if they had been made by an Act commencing on the republication date (see Legislation Act 2001, s 115 and s 117). The changes are made if the Parliamentary Counsel considers they are desirable to bring the law into line, or more closely into line, with current legislative drafting practice.
This republication does not include amendments made under part 11.3 (see endnote 1).

Name of regulation
This regulation is the Building and Construction Industry Training Levy Regulation 2001.
Qualified valuer—Act, s 15, def qualified valuer
(1)A qualified valuer is a person who is—
(a)an accredited valuer; or
(b)an architect registered under the Architects Act 2004 or a corresponding State law; or
NoteState is defined in the Legislation Act, dict, pt 1.
(c)an engineer who is registered on the National Professional Engineers Register administered by The Institution of Engineers, Australia in any of the following general areas of practice:
(i)building services;
(ii)civil;
(iii)electrical;
(iv)structural; or
(d)a quantity surveyor who is a corporate member of The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
(2)In this section:
accredited valuer means a person who is—
(a)registered, licensed or approved under a Commonwealth or State law to carry out valuations of property; or
(b)accredited as a certified practising valuer by the Australian Property Institute Incorporated.
Approved training—Act, s 28 (4), def approved training
Any training delivered by a registered training organisation is declared to be approved training.
