NEW SOUTH WALES

(Published in Gazette No. 170 of 16 December 1994]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Act 1986, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

KERRY CHIKAROVSKI,

Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment.

The Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Regulation 1986 is amended by omitting from clauses 7 (1) (b) and 7D (5) the matter “31 December 1994” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “30 June 1996”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Regulation 1984 prescribes, in clause 7, the method of calculating the rate of long service levy payable to workers as a percentage of the cost of erecting certain buildings. Currently, a zero rate applies in relation to buildings on which erection work commenced between 29 March 1993 and 31 December 1994. This Regulation extends the relevant date to 30 June 1996, and makes consequential amendments relating to the determination of when work on the erection of a building commenced.

This Regulation is made under the Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Act 1986, including sections 35 and 65.
