Building (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 2) 1987

An Ordinance to amend the Building Ordinance 1972

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Building (Amendment) Ordinance  (No. 2) 1987.1

Principal Ordinance

2.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Building  Ordinance 1972.2

Interpretation

3.  Section 5 of the Principal Ordinance is amended:

(a)by inserting in subsection (1) the following definition in its appropriate alphabetical position:

“ ‘determined fee’ means the fee determined pursuant to section 65 for the purposes of the provision in which the expression occurs;”; and

(b)by omitting subsection (5).

Applications for builder’s licence

4.  Section 15 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end the following subsection:

“(4)  An application for a builder’s licence shall be accompanied by the determined fee.”.

Register of builder’s licences

5.  Section 20 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (3) “prescribed” and substituting “determined”.

Requirements for grant of building permits

6.  Section 31 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (2) “prescribed” (last occurring) and substituting “determined”.

Period for which approval in force

7.  Section 33A of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (3) (c) “prescribed” and substituting “determined”.

Grant of building permits

8.  Section 35 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (2) (c) “prescribed” and substituting “determined”.

Period for which building permit in force

9.  Section 41 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (2) “prescribed” and substituting “determined”.
