Building (Amendment) Ordinance 1983

An Ordinance to amend the Building Ordinance 1972

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Building (Amendment) Ordinance

1983}

Principal Ordinance

under section 65".

2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Building Ordinance

Interpretation

3. Section 5 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end

thereof the following sub-section:

"(5) A reference in a provision of this Ordinance to a prescribed fee shall be read as a reference to the fee determined under section 65 for the purposes of that provision.".

Grant of licences
4. Section 17 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from
sub-section (6) "prescribed" and substituting "determined by the Minister

Building permit endorsed "No Builder's Licence Required"

5. Section 39 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) "a fee calculated in accordance with the regulations" and substituting "the fee determined by the Minister under section 65".

Fees

6. Section 64 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) "specified in, or calculated in accordance with, the regulations" and substituting "determined by the Minister under section 65".

7. After section 64 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is

inserted:

Power of Minister to determine fees

"65. The Minister may, by notice in writing published in the Gazette,

determine fees for the purposes of this Ordinance.".
