No. 266. An Act to amend " The Building Act, 1881 ."

HEREAS it is expedient to amend " The Building Act, 1881," Preamble.
and to make such other provisions as are hereinafter con- tained-Be it therefore Enacted by thc Governor of the Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislativc Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:
1, This Act may be cited for all purposes asbc The Buildingshod title and

wall, in, to, or upon any new building afterthe roof hasbeen covered in, shall, to the extent of such alteration, addition,
or work, be entirely subject to the regulations of the principal
Act; and whenever mention is made in the principal Actof any

The Building Act Amendment Act.-1 882.alteration, addition, or work, in, to, or upon any building, i t shall, unless the contrary appears from the context, be deemed to imply an alteration, addition, or work to which the principal Act applies.

7, Notwithstanding anything contained in the First Schedule to the said principal Act, it shall be lawful to construct a wall, in manner thercin mentioned, with a damp-proof course or courses of jarrah or redgum wood. | |
First Schedule of the principal Act shall be read and construed as if the word " not " had been inserted between the words " are " and |
applicable " therein contained.
