I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor‑General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

  1. Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Broadcasting Services (Extension of Simulcast Period) Regulations 2007.

  1. Commencement

These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

  1. Definitions

In these Regulations:

Act means the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

metropolitan licence area has the meaning given by clause 2 of Schedule 4 to the Act.

  1. Prescribed simulcast period (Act, Sch 4, s 6)

For subparagraph 6 (3) (c) (ii) of Schedule 4 to the Act, a period of 9 years is prescribed in relation to a metropolitan licence area.
