An Act to amend the Act " to prevent the Forgery " in New South Wales of Stamps of the United " Kingdom." [27th September, 1852.]
WH E R E A S an Act of Council was passed in the fourteenth of Her present Majesty's reign intituled " An Act to prevent the Forgery in New South Wales of Stamps of the United Kingdom"
And whereas the said Act relates only to the dies plates or other instruments provided made or used for the purpose of expressing or denoting stamp duties by or under the direction of the Commissioners of Stamps and to the stamps marks or impressions of such dies plates or other instruments and to forgeries thereof And whereas plates or other instruments for expressing or denoting stamp duties and stamp marks or impressions thereof are also provided made used and issued by or under the direction of Officers known as the " Commissioners of Stamps and Taxes" and the " Commissioners of Inland Revenue" and may hereafter be provided made used and issued by and under the direction of other Public Officers to be duly authorized in that behalf in Great Britain or Ireland And whereas it is expedient that the provisions of the said recited Act should be applied to and in relation to all dies plates or instruments whatsoever at any time made provided or used by any Commissioners or other Officers whatsoever in Great Britain or Ireland under the authority of any Act of the Imperial Parliament and to the stamps marks or impressions thereof and to and in

in relation to forgeries thereof respectively Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of New South Wales by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof That the several provisions of the said recited Act shall be and be deemed and construed to apply to and in relation to the dies plates or other instruments provided made or used or hereafter to be provided made or used by any Commissioners or other Officers whomsoever in Great Britain or Ireland for the purpose of expressing or denoting any stamp duty whatever under the authority of any Act of the Imperial Parliament and to and in relation to the stamps marks or impressions thereof and to and in relation to any false forged or counterfeit resemblance or representation or intended resemblance or representation of any such dies plates or other instruments or of any such stamps marks or impressions.
