Brisbane and Area Water Board Act Amdt. Act (No. 2) 1981, No. 97 1009 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Brisbane and Area Water Board Act Amendment Act 1981 (No. 2). (2) In this Act the Brisbane and Area Water Board Act 1979-1981 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Brisbane and Area Water Board Act 1979-1981. 2. New s. 30A. The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section 30 the following section:- " 30A. No entitlement to compensation . (1) Compensation shall not be payable- (a) to a Local Authority on account of the Board's assuming control of headworks of the Local Authority or acquiring property of the Local Authority in the exercise of a power under this Act; or (b) to the Board on account of its assuming any liability or obligation of a Local Authority in the exercise of a power under this Act, and the authority of the Board to enter into negotiations for the purpose of exercising its powers under section 29 does not extend to its agreeing to pay or give or to its agreeing to receive or take that compensation. (2) The provisions of this Act shall be read and construed as if subsection (1) had, at all times, been a provision of this Act.".
