Citation

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Boxing Control Regulations.1

Commencement

2.1  (1)  Regulation 1, this regulation and regulation 4 commence on the day on which these Regulations are notified in the Gazette.

(2)  Regulation 3 commences, or shall be taken to have commenced, as the case requires, on 23 August 1993.

Prescribed contests, displays and exhibitions

3. For the purposes of the definition of “boxing contest” in section 3 of the Boxing Control Act 1993, the boxing contests, displays or exhibitions—

(a)at the Hellenic Club, Matilda Street, Phillip on 19 September 1993 promoted by Gregory Martin Hinton;

(b)at the Eastlake Football Club, Oxley Street, Griffith on 18 and 19 September 1993 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizen’s Youth Club;

(c)at the Turner Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, McKay Gardens, Turner on 23 October 1993 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

(d)at the Tuggeranong Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, Grattan Court, Wanniassa on 16 April 1994 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

(e)at the Turner Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, McKay Gardens, Turner on 2 July 1994 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

(f)at the Jamison Inn, Bowman Street, Macquarie on 15 July 1994 promoted by Ringside Promotions;

(g)    at the Tuggeranong Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, Grattan Court, Wanniassa on 13 May 1995 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

(h)at the Turner Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, McKay Gardens, Turner on 19 August 1995 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

(i)at the Jamison Inn, Bowman Street, Macquarie on 8 October 1995 and on 17 December 1995 promoted by Sandra Orr; and

(j)at the Tuggeranong Police and Citizens’ Youth Club, Grattan Court, Wanniassa on 27 April 1996 promoted by the Canberra Police and Citizens’ Youth Club;

are prescribed contests, displays or exhibitions.

Repeal

4.  The Boxing Control Regulations (being Subordinate Law No. 26 of 1993) are repealed.
