Bounty (Tractor Cabs) Amendment Act 1984

An Act to amend section 3 of the Bounty (Tractor Cabs) Act 1983

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Short title, &c.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Bounty (Tractor Cabs) Amendment Act 1984.

(2) The Bounty (Tractor Cabs) Act 19831is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

Commencement

2. (1) Paragraph 3 (a) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 10 June 1983.

(2) The remaining provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on 9 June 1984.

Interpretation

3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting “heat-treated” from paragraph (b) of the definition of “bountiable cab”;

(b) by omitting “9 June 1984” from the definition of “bounty period” and substituting “the relevant day”; and

(c) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:

“(2) For the purposes of the definition of ‘bounty period’ in sub-section (1), the relevant day shall be taken to be 31 December 1984 or such other day, not being a day later than 30 June 1985, as is fixed by the Minister for the purposes of this sub-section—

(a) if the day so fixed is earlier than 31 December 1984—by notice published in the Gazette on or before the day so fixed; or

(b) if the day so fixed is later than 31 December 1984—by notice published in the Gazette on or before 31 December 1984.”.
