Bounty (Steel Mill Products) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Bounty (Steel Mill Products) Act 1983.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Bounty (Steel Mill Products) Regulations.

Commencement

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 1984.

Definition of "bountiable tube"

3. For the purposes of the definition of "bountiable tube" in sub-section 3 (1) of the Bounty (Steel Mill Products) Act 1983—

(a) prescribed strip is a product prescribed in accordance with subparagraph (b) (v) of that definition in relation to the process described in paragraph (b) of this regulation;

(b) the process of spirally forming prescribed strip into a lock seam tubular product and welding the seam so formed along the whole of the length of the seam by means of a machine known as an automatic continuous submerged arc welding machine or a machine known as an automatic continuous flux cored arc welding machine is a process prescribed in accordance with sub-paragraph (b) (v) of that definition; and

(c) in the case of tube produced by spirally forming prescribed strip into a lock seam tubular product and welding the seam so formed along the whole of the length of the seam by means of a machine referred to in paragraph (b), tube that has not been perforated and the length of which when so formed and welded was not less than 2.98m is a kind of product prescribed in accordance with paragraph (f) of that definition.
