Bounty (Ships) (Registration) Regulations (Cth)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia,
acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the
following Regulations under the

(a) that the applicant shall be a body corporate incorporated under a law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory;
(b) that the applicant shall possess such financial means as are necessary to fund adequately the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought;
(c) that the applicant shall possess such financial means as are necessary to meet all financial liabilities (actual or contingent) likely to be incurred by the applicant in connection with the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought as those liabilities fall due;
(d) that the applicant shall possess such technical and management skills (including financial management skills) as are necessary to ensure the successful completion of the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought;
(e) that the applicant shall, during the period of registration of the premises, ensure that an average of not less than 20 persons are engaged (whether as employees, contractors or sub-contractors) in carrying out the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought;
(f) that the applicant shall, during the period of registration of the premises, employ not less than one apprentice for every 8 tradespersons employed by the applicant in the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought; and
(g) that the applicant shall possess access to such facilities, including a waterfront site, as are necessary for the construction or modification of the bountiable vessels in relation to which registration of the premises is sought.
(a) an applicant for registration of premises meets, or will meet, all but one of the conditions specified in sub-regulation (1); and
(b) the applicant would otherwise be entitled to registration of the premises under section 10 of the Act,
the Minister may, if the Minister considers it appropriate to do so having regard to all the circumstances, register the premises under that section.

(a) an applicant for registration as a prescribed shipbuilder meets, or will meet, all but one of the conditions specified in sub-regulation (1); and
(b) the applicant would otherwise be entitled to be registered as a prescribed shipbuilder under section 10A of the Act,
the Minister may, if the Minister considers it appropriate to do so having regard to all the circumstances, register the applicant as a prescribed shipbuilder under that section.
