AN ACT to amend the Bookmakers Betting Tax

Act, 1954.

[Assented to 18th December, 1956.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation. 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Bookmakers

Betting Tax Act Amendment Act, 1956.

(2) In this Act the Bookmakers Betting Tax Act,

1954,

Act No. 62 of 1954,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Bookmakers Betting Tax Act, 1954-1956.

2. Section two of the principal Act is amended S. 'a'

by substituting for the passage commencing with the word, "is" in line three and ending with the word, "bookmaker" being the last word in the section, the following paragraphs

(a)

is, in respect of turnover mentioned in atTelra:), paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section =claimed fourteen of the Betting Control Act, 1954,

the rate of one and one-quarter per

centum;

(b)

is, in respect of turnover mentioned in Motor paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of section tt%:iciz,L;gein fourteen of the Betting Control Act, 1954, each yperao. the rate of one and one-quarter per claimed day. centum;

(c)

is, in respect of turnover mentioned in on-course paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section =3;i; fourteen of the Betting Control Act, 1954, eTei0,0eiL

and
