BOOK PURCHASERS' PROTECTION
(AMENDMENT) ACT.
Act No. 26, 1963.
An Act to enable regulations, including regulations relating to type, to be made under the Book Purchasers' Protection Act, 1899-1934; for this purpose to amend the said Act; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 6th September, 1963.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : —
published in the Gazette. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Book Purchasers' Protection (Amendment) Act, 1963".

(2) The Book Purchasers' Protection Act, 1899, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the Book Purchasers' Protection Act, 1899-1963.
(3) This Act shall commence upon a day to be
appointed by the Governor and notified by proclamation
The Book Purchasers' Protection Act, 1899-1934, is
amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of section five the words "great primer" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "the size prescribed by regulation under this Act" ; (b) by inserting next after section eight the following new section : — 9. (1) The Governor may make regulations not inconsistent with this Act prescribing all matters which by this Act are required or permitted to be prescribed or which are necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to this Act.
(2) Such regulations shall—
(a) be published in the Gazette;
(b) take effect from the date of publication or from a later date to be specified in such regulations; (c) be laid before both Houses of Parliament within fourteen sitting days after publica tion if Parliament is in session and, if not, then within fourteen sitting days after the
commencement of the next session.
If either House of Parliament passes a resolution of which notice has been given at any time within fifteen sitting days after such regulations have been laid before such House disallowing any regula tion or part thereof, such regulation or part shall thereupon cease to have effect.
