TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS

AT CANBERRA ON WEDNESDAY, 18 MARCH 2020, AT 9.40 AM

HIS HONOUR:   On 9 December 2019, Trieu Thanh Leculier and her firm, Sydney Solicitors, filed a summons applying for leave to withdraw as the solicitor on the record for the applicant.  For the reasons that I now publish, I would grant leave to withdraw.  I direct that those reasons be incorporated into the transcript.

The order is:

1.Ms Leculier and Sydney Solicitors are granted leave to withdraw as solicitors for the applicant.

I publish that order.

Trieu Thanh Leculier and her firm Sydney Solicitors, apply for leave to withdraw as the solicitor on the record for the applicant.

It appears that the applicant is no longer present in Australia, and, in any event, neither the applicant nor any person acting on his behalf has been in contact with Ms Leculier for more than two years.

The first respondent does not suggest that it would be prejudiced by granting Ms Leculier leave to withdraw as the applicant’s solicitor on the record, or, indeed, that there is any reason to decline the order sought.  In the circumstances, there is no good reason not to accede to Ms Leculier’s application.

Accordingly, I grant Ms Leculier and her firm Sydney Solicitors leave to withdraw as solicitors for the applicant.

AT 9.41 AM THE MATTER WAS CONCLUDED
