s1 2 s3 Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2007 No. 259, 2007 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2007 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Regulation 2003. 3 Amendment of s 9 (Documents required for registering change of name—Act, s 19) (1) Section 9(1)(c) and (2)(d), before ‘documents evidencing’— insert— ‘1 or more’. (2) Section 9(1)(d)— omit, insert— ‘(d) if the adult was born outside Australia— (i) 1 or more documents verifying the following— (A) the adult’s name at birth; (B) the adult’s date of birth; (C) the adult’s place of birth; and (ii) 1 or more documents evidencing the adult is ordinarily resident in Queensland;’. (3) Section 9(1)(e), ‘evidence of’— omit, insert— ‘1 or more documents evidencing’. (4) Section 9(2)(c), ‘a document’— omit, insert— ‘1 or more documents’. (5) Section 9(2)(e)(iii), ‘evidence’— omit, insert—

(6) Section 9(2)(f)— omit, insert— ‘(f) if the child was born outside Australia— (i) 1 or more documents verifying the following— (A) the child’s name at birth; (B) the child’s date of birth; (C) the child’s place of birth; (D) the names of the child’s parents or guardians; and (ii) 1 or more documents evidencing the child is ordinarily resident in Queensland.’. (7) Section 9(2), examples of documentation for subsections (1)(d)(ii) and (2)(f)(ii)— omit.
