Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 1997

  1. Name of regulation

    This regulation is the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Regulation 2009 (No 1).

  2. Commencement

    This regulation commences on the commencement of the Civil Partnerships Amendment Act 2009 (No 2).

    NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

  3. Legislation amended

    This regulation amends the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Regulation 1998.

  4. Section 8A (1)

    omit

    and (4)

  5. Section 8A (1) (b)

    substitute

    (b)if the civil partnership was entered into by a declaration of civil partnership before a civil partnership notary under the Civil Partnerships Act 2008, section 8B and registration under that Act, section 8BA—

    (i)the date and place of the declaration; and

    (ii)the full name of at least 1 witness to the declaration; and

    (iii)the civil partnership notary’s full name; and

    (iv)details of the notary’s registration as a civil partnership notary under that Act, part 2A; and

    (v)the date and place of registration under that Act, section 8BA;
