Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe Corrective Services NSW as a law enforcement agency that may have access to applications for registration of a change of a person’s name, and to entries in the Births, Deaths and Marriages Register regarding changes of names.

This Regulation is made under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 1995, including sections 46A (5) (d) and 62 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment
(Corrective Services NSW) Regulation 2014.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Regulation 2011

Clause 17A

Insert after clause 17:

17A Law enforcement agencies

For the purposes of section 46A (5) (d) of the Act, Corrective Services NSW within the meaning of the Crimes (Administration of Sentences) Act 1999 is prescribed as a law enforcement agency.
