Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Regulations Amendment Regulations 2017

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.            Citation

These regulations are the Biosecurity and Agriculture
Management Regulations Amendment Regulations 2017.

2.            Commencement

(Agriculture Standards) Regulations 2013.

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a) Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;
(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.            Regulations amended

This Part amends the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management

4.            Regulation 20D amended

(1) In regulation 201)(4)(a) delete "HPG; or" and insert:
HGP; or
(2) In regulation 201)(6) delete "HPG" and insert:
HGP

Part 3 - Biosecurity and Agriculture Management

5.           Regulations amended

This Part amends the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management
Regulations 2013.

6.            Part 3 Division 2A inserted After Part 3 Division 2 insert:

Division 2A - Use of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus

45A. Terms used

In this Division -
approved training course means a training course in
the safe use of restricted chemical products containing

a rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus that is -

(a) conducted by the department; or
(b) approved under regulation 4513;
restricted chemicaiproduct has the meaning given in

the Agvet Code of Western Australia.

45B. Approval of training courses

(1) The Director General may approve a training course in

the use of restricted chemical products containing a training in the safe use of the products.

(2) The approval is to be given in writing and published on

the department's website.

45C. A uthorisation to use rabbit haemorrhagic disease
virus

A person is authorised to use a restricted chemical product containing a rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus for the biological control of rabbits if the person —

(a) has completed an approved training course; and

(b)

uses the restricted chemical product in a manner that is consistent with the product's directions for use.
