Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Amendment Regulations 2025

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Amendment Regulations 2025.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

  • (a)

    regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

  • (b)

    the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Regulations 2013.

4.Regulation 13 amended

Delete regulation 13(2) to (5).

5.Regulation 203 amended
  • (1)

    Delete regulation 203(1) and insert:

     
  • (1)

    A registered identifier must —

    • (a)

      be applied to a hive and marked in a manner approved by the Director General, as published on the department’s electronic site; and

    • (b)

      meet the requirements of subregulation (2).

       
  • (2)

    In regulation 203(2) delete the passage that begins with “not less” and ends with “conjoined.” and insert:

     

visible, legible and indelible.

6.Regulation 205 deleted

Delete regulation 205.

7.Regulation 206 amended
  • (1)

    In regulation 206(1) delete “not, except to cancel an identifier under regulation 205,” and insert:

     

not, except in accordance with the approved manner under regulation 203,

  • (2)

    Delete regulation 206(2) and insert:

     
  • (2)

    Subject to subregulation (1), a hive bearing an identifier that is altered, defaced or otherwise rendered indistinguishable is to be regarded as not identified in accordance with these regulations.
