BILLS OF SALE AMENDMENT ACT
No. 102 of 1987
AN ACT to amend the Bills of Sale Act 1899.
[Assented to 16 December 1987]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Bills of Sale Amendment Act 1987.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day that section 7 of the
Chattel Securities Act 1987 comes into operation.

3. In this Act the Bills of Sale Act 1899* is referred to as the principal
Act.

Section 5 amended
4. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended

" "Chattels" means stock and wool or growing crops when
separately charged or bailed. ";
| (b) | by deleting the definition of "Factory or workshop"; |
| (c) | in the definition of "Stock" by deleting "and poultry" and substituting the following- |
" poultry and all other animals ";
| (d) | by inserting after the definition of "Stock" the following definition- |
" "Wool" means the hair of any stock. ".
Section 29A repealed
5. Section 29A of the principal Act is repealed.
Sections 42 and 43 amended
6. Sections 42 and 43 of the principal Act are amended by deleting
"sheep" wherever occurring and substituting in each case the following-
" stock ".
Section 54 repealed
7. Section 54 of the principal Act is repealed.
Transitional
8. The provisions of the principal Act as in force before the day that
this Act comes into operation apply to and in relation to a bill of sale
made or given before that day but nothing in this section affects the
| operation of section 7 of the Chattel Securities Act 1987. |
