AN ACT to amend the Bills of Sale Act, 1899-1962.

[Assented to 5th November, 1963.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Bills of Sale

and citation.

2. Section three of the principal Act is amended

(a)

by substituting for the word, "This", being the first word in the section, the passage, "(1) Subject to subsection (2) of this section, this"; and

(b)

by adding a subsection as follows—

(2) This Act

(a)

does not apply to any charge or assignment referred to in sub- section (3) of section one hundred of the Companies Act,

1961;

(b)

subject to that section, continues to apply to any existing charge or assignment that before the coming into operation of the Companies Act, 1961, was regis- tered under this Act until it is registered under paragraph (b) of subsection (9) of section one hundred of the Companies Act,

1961, and thereupon this Act

continues to apply to that charge or assignment except that it is not subject to avoidance under this Act and its registration under this Act is not reauire,d to be renewed. .
