Benefit Associations (Repeal) Act 2001†

[Assented to 29 May 2001]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to repeal the Benefit

Associations Act 1958.

2. Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

4. Amendment of the Funerals (Pre-Paid Money) Act 1993

Section 20 of the Funerals (Pre-Paid Money)
Act 1993 is repealed.

5. Amendment of the Financial Sector Reform (Victoria) Act 1999

In section 17(3)(a) of the Financial Sector
Reform (Victoria) Act 1999 for ", the Industrial
and Provident Societies Act 1958 and the
Benefit Associations Act 1958" substitute "and
the Industrial and Provident Societies Act

1958".
