Act to amend the Beer Excise Act 1901-1966
in relation to the establishment of a Collectorate of Customs in the Northern
Territory.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent
Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This
Act may be cited as the Beer Excise Act 1968.
(2.) The Beer
Excise Act 1901—1966 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act,
may be cited as the Beer Excise Act 1901-1968.
Definitions.
2.Section
5 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from the definition of “Collector”
the words “the State” and inserting in their stead the words “a State or
Territory of the Commonwealth”.
First
Schedule.
3.The
First Schedule to the Principal Act is amended—
(a)
by omitting the words—
“To the Collector,
State
of ”
and
inserting in their stead the words—
“To the Collector for ”;
and
(b)
by omitting the words “in the State of”.
