1  Name

This instrument is the Bass Strait Central Zone Scallop Fishery (Fishing Season) Determination 2023.

2  Commencement

  This instrument commences on 8 July 2023.

3  Cessation

This instrument ceases on 1 January 2024.

4  Authority

This instrument is made under paragraph 17(6)(aa) of the Act for the purpose of section 3 of the Management Plan.

5  Definitions

(1)   In this instrument:

Act means the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

Management Plan means Bass Strait Central Zone Scallop Fishery Management Plan 2002.

(2)   Any term used in this instrument that is defined for the purpose of the Management Plan has the same meaning in this instrument as it has in the Management Plan.

Note:          Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meaning in this instrument (see paragraph 13(1)(b) of the Legislation Act 2003).

6  Determination of fishing season

The fishing season in the Bass Strait Central Zone Scallop Fishery is determined to be the period commencing 8 July 2023 and ending 31 December 2023.
