6 6$umtslanb ANNO NONO EL1ZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE. No. 15. An Act to Repeal "The Barristers Act of 1956." [A ssented to 31 st O ctober , I960.] B E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title. 1 . This Act may be cited as “ The Barristers Act of 1956 Repeal Act of 1960.” Repeal of 5 Ehz. 11. No. 3. Savings. 2. “ The Barristers Act of 1956 ” is hereby repealed. 3. The repeal of “ The Barristers Act of 1956 ” shall not affect the enrolment as a barrister or the right to practise as a barrister in Queensland of any person who, having been admitted under the provisions of such Act before the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixty, to practise as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland, is at that date enrolled as a barrister in the roll of barristers kept by the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
9 E liz . II. No. 15,1960. Barristers Act of 1956 Repeal Act. 7 The Supreme Court may direct the name of any such person to be struck off the aforesaid roll of barristers, or may otherwise discipline him, upon proof that he has been guilty of conduct which renders him Unfit to be allowed to continue to practise as a barrister, or which may require that he be disciplined. Upon proof that any such person has been deprived by the Supreme Court of the State, by virtue of his right to practise wherein he was enrolled as aforesaid, of the right to practise in that State as a barrister, the said Registrar shall strike the name of that person off the roll of barristers kept by him. 4. Any admission under the provisions of “ The Barristers Act of 1956 ” on or after the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixty, of any person as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland shall, by virtue of this Act, become and be null and void on and from the passing of this Act.
