Banks (Shareholdings) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Banks (Shareholdings) Act 1972.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Banks (Shareholdings) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 2 (Interpretation)

2.1   Add at the end:

“(2)

For the purposes of these Regulations, whether a corporation is a subsidiary of another corporation or not is to be determined in accordance with the Corporations Law.”.

3.   Schedule (Banks and persons specified for purposes of regulations 3 and 4)

3.1   After item 2B, insert:

“2C ING Mercantile Mutual Bank Limited Internationale Nederlanden Bank NV, being the corporation formed or incorporated under that name in the Netherlands Internationale Nederlanden Groep NV being the corporation formed or incorporated under that name in the Netherlands”.
